Favorite thing about working in the AEC industry: Seeing ideas come to life in physical form. This was always the attraction of this profession, where the combination of skills in Art/Science/Math and working collaboratively are all necessary to bring a project to life.
Most memorable professional experience: Having a family member receive medical care in clinical spaces I’ve worked on. It’s humbling to experience the space as a parent and hope everything works as it was intended.
Recent project you’re proud of: It’s like my children – I’m proud of them all in unique and special ways. Each project exposes me to new people and ideas and, particularly in healthcare, its continuous learning with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in how care is provided.
Special skill we may not know about: I’ve always loved building models from anything I could find when I was a girl, and that has translated to furniture, art, and buildings. I’m always happy when I’m creating something tangible with my hands.
Favorite place you’ve ever been: The last pre-pandemic favorite place I went was London, where we walked around the city for a week. I’m looking forward to more travel again.
The one thing in the world that you cannot live without: Unscheduled time to refresh and unwind.
What you’re likely to be doing on a Saturday: I love growing plants indoors and out. Going to a greenhouse or botanical garden for inspiration is a pretty good Saturday for me.
Who or what inspires you most? Creativity – seeing how people generate something beautiful from simple materials always energizes me.
Why are you a member of PWC? It’s a great opportunity to hear other people’s stories and see how they work in the AEC world. There are so many different ways to be a part of this industry.
