IT’S OFFICIAL! PWC Boston is pleased to announce our FIRST EVER scholarship recipients: $5,000 winner Dyuthi Prakash, Boston Architectural College (M.Arch Architecture), and $2,500 runner-up Hunessa Louis, University of Massachusetts Lowell (BSE Civil Engineering). We are thrilled to help these two young women along their career path in our industry. Congratulations to Dyuthi and Hunessa!
Scholarship Winner: Dyuthi Prakash
Praised by her colleagues, teachers and mentors as driven, committed, curious and creative, Dyuthi Prakash brings passion and energy to all she does. From a young age, it has been her unwavering mission to change the face of architecture by challenging the status quo and actively working to increase diversity in the A/E/C industry.
As part of her commitment to supporting young students in their growth, she joined BosNOMA (National Organization of Minority Architects), where she chairs the Career Development Committee. Recognizing the impact her own success will have on inspiring future generations to pursue their dreams, she is focused on obtaining licensure as a professional architect. In addition, she is pursuing a Master of Architecture degree from Boston Architectural College.
She is well on her way to reaching both academic achievements, and in turn taking another step toward her goal of increasing equity and diversity to create a more inclusive industry.
Scholarship Runner-Up: Hunessa Louis
Hunessa Louis is drawn to civil engineering by a deep appreciation of the significant impact of the built environment on daily life. She is driven by a desire to better communities and a passion to give back. Currently pursuing a degree at UMass Lowell in Civil Engineering with a minor in Business Administration, she intends to extend her studies to include a master’s degree in project management.
Hunessa has completed several internships where she was a sought-after team member for her attention to detail and ability to find creative solutions to design challenges. She has been recognized by superiors for her engaging character, presence, and a confidence not typical of a young professional.
Numerous achievement awards reflect her drive for academic excellence. Likewise, leadership roles in a variety of academic and civic organizations demonstrate her passion to increase diversity in the A/E/C industry. Hunessa is poised to achieve her goal of leveraging her love for engineering to inspire, connect, and give back.
